专利说明:

The invention relates to a headrest for a motor vehicle seat.
It is known to make a headrest for a motor vehicle seat, said headrest comprising an armature, said armature comprising: a fixed part comprising two substantially vertical rods for mounting on a backrest of said seat and a first transverse crossbar connecting the upper ends of said rods; and a movable portion longitudinally adjustable in a plurality of positions, said movable portion comprising a second transverse cross member provided with a support cushion, so that said cushion is longitudinally adjustable.
Document US-2007/0013219 discloses, in particular, headrests whose adjustment is based on a deformable parallelogram principle, the longitudinal adjustment of the cushion causing a change in its height adjustment, which may force the occupying the seat to rectify said height adjustment once made said longitudinal adjustment.
Also known headrests do not have this disadvantage but the setting requires the occupant to actuate unlocking, including by means of a button, a locking latch in the selected adjustment position. The invention aims to overcome these disadvantages. For this purpose, the invention provides a headrest for a motor vehicle seat, said headrest comprising a frame, said frame comprising: a fixed part comprising two substantially vertical rods for mounting on a backrest of said seat and a first cross-member transverse connection connecting the upper ends of said rods; and a longitudinally adjustable movable portion in a plurality of positions, said movable portion comprising a second transverse cross member provided with a support cushion, so that said cushion is longitudinally adjustable, said support head further having laterally on either side the following characteristics: • said cross members are interconnected by a large and a small connecting rod, • said large connecting rod has a first end, articulated along a first vertical axis at the end of said second crosses, and a second end, mounted in coulissem crosswise on said first cross-member so that said large connecting rod forms with said first cross-member an acute external angle; said small connecting rod has a third end articulated along a second vertical axis in the middle portion of said large connecting rod, and a fourth end, articulated along a third vertical axis at the end of said first cross-member, a latch is rotatably mounted along a fourth vertical axis at said second end, said latch comprising at least one notching tooth, said latch being operable between a meshing position and a non-meshing position, • a spring means having two stable states is mounted so as to allow said latch to be held in one or the other of its positions, • said first crossbar is provided with an arranged transverse rack to be able to mesh with said tooth so that, in the selected setting position e, said second cross member is locked in said position when a force is applied thereto and can be actuated forward by traction, • a spring is mounted to actuate said large connecting rod closing said external angle, • said latch comprises a radial projection arranged to be able to bear against a first stop disposed at the outer end of said rack, said support rotating said latch from its meshing position to its non-meshing position when said latch reaches said end external, so as to allow traction of said second crossbar in the maximum position before its return to the rearmost position, a second stop being provided at the inner end of said rack so as to receive said support projection when said second cross is brought back in the rearmost position, said support rotating said lo quet from its non-meshing position to its meshing position, so as to allow a new adjustment of the position of said second cross.
In this description, the terms of positioning in the space (top, top, bottom, longitudinal, transverse, lateral, front, rear, vertical, ...) are taken in reference to the headrest mounted in configuration of use in the vehicle. The external angle mentioned is that which is seen when the headrest is viewed laterally.
When a radial projection is mentioned, the term "radial" is taken in relation to the fourth axis.
Spring means having two stable states is also known as a "bi-stable spring".
With the proposed arrangement, the longitudinal adjustment of the cushion does not entail any change in its height adjustment, which exempts the occupant to rectify said height adjustment once achieved said longitudinal adjustment.
In addition, the adjustment of the cushion is done by simply pulling the movable part, its return to maxi-rear position being by simply setting maximum-front position of said movable part, which avoids the occupant to have to actuate unlocking, by an actuating means such as a button, the latch. Other features and advantages of the invention will appear in the description which follows, made with reference to the appended figures, in which: FIG. 1 is a partial perspective view of a headrest according to one embodiment, the cushion being in the intermediate adjustment position, FIGS. 2 are partial top views of the headrest of FIG. 1, the cushion being in the process of being adjusted (2a), in the maximum forward position (2b), in the quasi-position 2), and in the rearmost position (2d), FIG. 3 is a partial schematic side view of the headrest of the preceding figures according to one embodiment, the cushion being in the intermediate adjustment position. • Figure 4 is a partial schematic side view of the headrest of the previous figures according to another embodiment, the cushion being in intermediate adjustment position.
Referring to the figures, a headrest 1 for a motor vehicle seat is described, said headrest comprising a frame 2, said frame comprising: a fixed part 3 comprising two substantially vertical rods 4 mounted on a backrest of said seat and a first transverse crossbar connecting the upper ends of said rods; and a movable portion 6 longitudinally adjustable in a plurality of positions, said movable portion comprising a second transverse crossbar provided with a support cushion, not shown, so that said cushion is longitudinally adjustable, said headrest further laterally on either side having the following characteristics: said sleepers are interconnected by a large and a small connecting rod, said large connecting rod has a first end articulated along a first vertical axis 11 at the end of said second cross-member, and second end 12, mounted in transverse sliding on said first cross-member so that said large connecting rod forms with said first cross-member an acute external angle 13, said small link has a third end 14, articulated along a second vertical axis 15 in the middle part of said large connecting rod, and a fourth end 16, articulated along a third vertical axis 17 at the end of said first cross member, • a latch 18 is rotatably mounted along a fourth vertical axis 19 at said second end, said latch comprising at least one - here several - dent 20 notching, said latch being operable between a meshing position and a non-meshing position, • a spring means 21 having two stable states is mounted to allow the retention of said latch in one or the other of its positions, • said first crossbar is provided with a rack 22 transver arranged dirty to mesh with said tooth so that, in the selected setting position, said second cross member is locked in said position when a force is applied thereto and can be actuated forward by pulling, • a spring 23 is mounted so as to actuate said large connecting rod closing said external angle, • said latch comprises a radial projection 24 arranged to bear against a first stop 25 disposed at the outer end of said rack, said support rotating said latch from its meshing position towards its non-meshing position when said latch arrives at said outer end, so as to allow traction of said second crossbar in the maximum position before its return to the rearmost position, a second stop 26 being provided at the inner end of said rack so as to receive said support projection when the adite second cross is brought back to the rear position, said support performing a rotation of said latch from its non-meshing position to its meshing position, so as to allow a new adjustment of the position of said second cross.
According to the embodiment shown, each rack 22 is disposed respectively in the upper zone and in the lower zone of the first crossbar 5, which allows the use of identical components (racks, latches, ..) laterally on both sides.
According to the embodiment shown, the racks 22 are arranged at the edges of transversely elongate slots 27 in which the fourth axes 19 slide.
According to the embodiment shown, the spring 23 is a tension spring mounted between the large connecting rods 8, in particular here at the second axes 15.
According to the embodiment, represented in FIG. 3, the headrest 1 comprises a casing 28 made of molded plastic material, said casing comprising two half-shells 29, 30 respectively mounted integrally with the fixed and mobile parts 6 of the armature 2, the cushion being disposed in overlapping of the half-shell 30 integral with said movable part.
According to another embodiment, represented in FIG. 4, the headrest 1 comprises a molded hollow housing 28 made of molded plastic material, the mobile part 6 of the armature 2 being mounted inside said casing, the cushion being disposed in overlap of said housing, a clearance space 31 being provided inside said housing to allow longitudinal adjustment of said cushion without creating interference between said housing and the fixed portion 3 of said armature.
Finally, the operation of the headrest 1 is explained in longitudinal adjustment of the cushion. From the maximum rear position of the second cross member 7, a forward traction is effected on the cushion.
The second crossbar 7 transmits to the connecting rods 8,9 a force which actuates the fourth axis 19 in transverse translation, as well as the latch 18 (Figure 2a).
Under the effect of this translation, the teeth 20 of the latch 18 meshes with the rack 22, and this over the entire stroke which allows the longitudinal adjustment of the cushion.
The return to the maxi-rear position is from the maxi-front position, without pressing a button.
The projection 24 of the latch 18 comes into contact with the first stop 25 and causes it to rotate until the spring means 21 bistable rocker in the non-meshing position (Figure 2b).
The traction spring 23 pulls on the large connecting rods 8 and returns the second crossbar 7 to its maximum rear position.
The projection 24 then abuts against the second stop 26 (Figure 2c) to bring the latch 18 in meshing position (Figure 2d) in which it is held by the spring means 21, which again allows the longitudinal adjustment of the cushion.
